INCLUDE EGYPT IN SUMMER TRAVEL PLANS NOW THAT GOVERNMENT HAS SETTLED

GREENVILLE, S.C.— Sure, Egypt has been through some political struggles in the past two months. But after the protests and the revolution, Hosni Mubarak stepped down from office and new elections will soon be held for a new President. And get this— the country could not be happier. One of the major struggles for Egypt now is the decrease in American tourism, and therefore the economy. Traveling to Egypt should not seem scary now; the government is settling and the country is at peace.

America’s recent governmental and political support is a major reason why Egypt feels that their hope is still alive. Some of our top officials have traveled to Cairo to guide the candidates for the upcoming Presidential election in Egypt and extend their political knowledge.

“Just knowing that our country will be run by someone other than Mubarak,” says Anippe Muqbil, resident of Fashn, Egypt, “takes a load off of our shoulders and gives us the hope to continue working and raising our families. The souks are opened back up and we hope to see tourists flooding back soon.”

The hotels are still open, the tours are still operating, and the sites are still beautiful. Nothing about the vacationing of Egypt has changed after the revolution. Visiting Cairo is still just as significant as foreigners visiting Washington, D.C., if not even more significant now that the country is engaged in their government.

The Nile River is still runs their boat tours and weeklong cruises making glorious stops to Luxor and Aswan. The Sphinx and the Great Pyramid of Khufu still stand proud and tall on the beautiful desert sand. You may not even remember what took place two months ago while you’re gazing at these monuments, breath taken.

The Egyptian Tourist Authority provides potential travelers with destinations, tours, packages and tips for a satisfying visit to Egypt. For more information or help to plan your next trip, visit http://www.egypt.travel/.
